Connect Broadband is gearing up to launch free voice calls for its customers in Punjab. The recent change in policy announced by the telecom regulator, TRAI, allows zero termination charges between operators for all calls originating from landline phones. Arvind Bali, director and CEO of Connect Broadband and Videocon Telecom, said: “This is a welcome regulation and we intend to pass on the entire benefit to our fixed line and mobility customers.” The company is working on special tariff packages for local and STD calls, under which customers will be able to make unlimited local and STD calls during the month without worrying about telephone bills.
